Discover is where most Heartseekers spend their time: a stream of profiles of the opposite gender in your age range. A few habits make it much more rewarding.

Who you see, and in what order

Discover picks from the people who suit you best and shows them in a fresh, random mix every time you visit, so you always meet new faces instead of the same few at the top. The order stays the same while you page through, so nobody is skipped.

Every card shows an estimated compatibility and the main reasons you might click — calculated in both directions, so a high score means they're likely to be interested in you too. Read how the score works.

Occasionally you'll see a card with a Spotlight tag. That person has boosted their profile, but boosts never break anyone's preferences — you only see boosted people who could have appeared anyway. More in our Spotlight boosts guide.

Browse with purpose

  1. Read before you like. Look at intentions, prompts and the "worth talking about" section.
  2. Like people you'd genuinely message. Matches only happen when it's mutual, so thoughtful likes lead to real conversations.
  3. Listen to the "are you sure?" question. If you like someone with a clashing dealbreaker, we'll check first — it's there to save you both time.
  4. Come back daily. New members join all the time, and your daily recommendations refresh each morning.

Passing is fine

Passing on someone simply moves on. They may appear again after a while, because people and preferences change.

Not seeing many people?

  • Widen your age range a little.
  • Remove a state filter, or include nearby states.
  • Check your own dealbreakers — too many can hide great people.
  • Finish your profile: complete profiles are shown more.

When someone catches your eye, read likes, matches and roses explained to make your move.

Common questions

Why do I see a "Spotlight" tag on some profiles?

That person has boosted their profile. Boosted members only appear if they would have appeared anyway, and only one in every few cards. Read the Spotlight guide.

Will the person know I passed on them?

No. Passing is private. They may appear again after a while.

Can I search for someone by name?

Discover is built around compatibility rather than names, which helps protect members’ privacy.

Why does someone I liked keep appearing?

Profiles you have liked don’t appear again in Discover. If you see someone similar, it may be a different person — check their name and photos.
