Never send money to someone you met online
Protect your information
- Keep conversations on SeekMyHeart until you trust someone. Scammers often push to move to another app quickly.
- Do not share your home address, workplace, bank details, BVN or one-time passwords.
- Use photos that do not reveal where you live or work.
- SeekMyHeart staff will never ask for your password.
Watch for warning signs
- Declarations of love very early on
- Excuses to avoid video calls or meeting
- Stories that change, or a sudden crisis
- Pressure, guilt or threats when you say no
Meeting for the first time
- Video call first so you know they are real
- Meet in a busy public place, in daylight if you can
- Tell a friend where you are going, who with, and when you will check in
- Arrange your own transport and keep your phone charged
- Stay in control of your drink and leave whenever you feel uncomfortable
About verification
A verified badge means the member passed a selfie check reviewed by our team, so their photos are likely to be of them. It does not mean we have checked their background, intentions or honesty. Keep using your judgement.

Photos checked by people
Profile photos and videos are reviewed by our team; rejected photos are never shown.
No money between members
Gifts and roses use credits that can never be cashed out or sent to anyone — so there is nothing for scammers to collect.
Privacy you control
Incognito browsing, hidden answers and opting out of the public pages. Your birthday, address and contacts are never shown.
Discreet notifications
