Dating involves sharing personal things, so you should always be in control of who sees them. Here's every privacy setting on SeekMyHeart and how to use it.

What is never shown

  • Your exact birthday — people see your age only (and you can hide that too).
  • Your exact location — people see your state and city only.
  • Your phone number, email and other contact details — until you choose to share them under the contact-sharing rule.
  • Your verification selfie and ID.

Profile visibility

  • Everyone — visible in Discover and recommendations.
  • Matches only — only people you've matched with see your full profile.
  • Hidden — take a break without deleting your account.

Sensitive answers

For answers like faith or ethnicity, you choose who can see them: all members, matches only, or nobody. Genotype is used for matching only and is never shown.

Incognito browsing

Incognito lets you browse without appearing in Discover. You're only shown to people you have liked — perfect when you want to be selective.

Online status

You can choose whether others see when you were last online.

Block and report

You can block or report anyone from their profile or a chat. Blocked people can't see you or contact you. Real people review every report. See how to spot a romance scam.

Notifications you control

  • Push notifications on your phone or computer, even when SeekMyHeart is closed. On iPhone, install the app first.
  • Emails only when it matters: a new match, a message waiting unread, a likes summary, a weekly round-up, and occasional articles like this one.
  • Quiet hours — no optional emails late at night.
  • Discreet subjects — email subject lines never name another member.
  • Turn any type off in Settings → Notifications, or unsubscribe with one click from any email.

Your data

Common questions

Can I take a break without deleting my account?

Yes. Set your profile to hidden. Your matches and messages are kept until you come back.

Can people see that I viewed their profile?

Browsing in incognito keeps you out of Discover, and you’re only shown to people you have liked.

How do I stop emails?

Turn off any email type in Settings → Notifications, or use the one-click unsubscribe link at the bottom of any optional email.

How do I delete my account?

Go to Settings and choose to delete your account. There’s a short grace period in case you change your mind. You can download a copy of your data first.
